About the Event

Weekly on Thursdays, 5:30 to 7:30 pm

Begins June 18, Ends July 16

Writing can be a powerful path toward healing, clarity, and connection, especially in times of loss, change, and renewal. In this five-week generative writing workshop, we’ll explore the emotional truths within our lived experiences, including grief, mortality, love, joy, and transformation. Through guided prompts, brief readings, and supportive discussion, participants will shape personal memories into meaningful stories.

As we write, we’ll also discover how returning to the past can unearth what has been forgotten, reveal new layers of meaning, and illuminate connections we may not have seen before. We’ll focus on the art of what’s said--and what’s left unsaid, while honoring each writer’s unique pace and process. This is a compassionate, non-judgmental space open to all levels, where sharing is always optional. Please bring a notebook, writing implement, and come ready to write.

This event aligns with Emberlight’s mission by offering participants a space to reflect on loss, memory, and meaning with intention and care. Its focus on storytelling as a way to process grief and transformation echoes Emberlight’s belief in honoring the end-of-life experience as a profound, communal, and deeply human process, while the compassionate, non-judgmental structure of this workshop mirrors the commitment to presence, dignity, and support. This workshop also aligns with Emberlight’s values of education, connection, and the sustaining “embers” of our shared experiences.
