Other Ways of Giving
Conscious giving takes many shapes. Beyond a single gift or a monthly one, there are other paths that let you support Emberlight in ways that fit your circumstances, your workplace, or your own gifts and gathering places. We invite you to explore what feels right.

Stocks & Securities
Giving appreciated stock, rather than selling it and giving cash, often means more reaches Emberlight and less goes to capital gains tax. It is a gift that rewards both the giving and the growth that came before it.

Endowments
An ember tended well outlasts the fire that made it.
A gift to the endowment is held in perpetuity rather than spent. The principal stays invested, and each year a small portion of its earnings is drawn to support Emberlight's work. The gift itself remains, generating care and sustainability year after year.

This is giving measured in decades. It tends not only those we serve today, but those who will come to our door long after.

Employer Match
Many workplaces will match a gift to Emberlight, quietly doubling what you have already given. Check with your employer's human resources office to see whether they offer matching gifts, and let us know once you have submitted the request so we can watch for it.

In-Kind Donations
Not every gift arrives as money. Some arrive as a set of sheets, a truckload of mulch, an afternoon of editing video.
Goods keep the house running and the campus tended: linens and bedding, kitchen and pantry items, cleaning supplies, paper goods, garden tools and plants, furnishings for the Sanctuary Suites and the Lighthouse.

Skills keep the work reaching further: web development, video editing, photography, social media, design, technology assistance, administrative support, marketing.
We track all of it. If you purchase from our wish list or offer your professional skills, please let us know so the gift is recorded and acknowledged.

If you have goods or services to offer, contact us at giving@emberlightway.org or by phone at 828-329-0823 to talk through how your skills can support our needs.

Share Your Skills With Emberlight Community
Every person who steps on our campus brings something. A practice, a skill, a field of knowledge earned over years.

We invite you to share yours. When you share your expertise that aligns with Emberlight’s mission and vision, everyone benefits, including Emberlight. We will plan alongside you to shape an interactive and embodied experience rooted in conscious living and conscious dying as a workshop, a weekend retreat, or an evening program. When guests sign up for your event, their contributions combine with your gift of your skills to support this work, and the gathering itself does something the money cannot: it brings people into a room together and lets them belong there.

This is the mission practiced rather than described. Presence, community, and the willingness to live awake to our own mortality, all in one evening.
Gather Your Own Circle
Some gatherings happen far from our campus, in your own home and among your own people. These are yours to shape. A birthday ask in place of gifts, a dinner among friends, a community event built around something you love. However it takes form, it carries this work into rooms we might not otherwise know.

The simplest version happens on your phone. Facebook and Instagram both let you name a nonprofit when your birthday comes around, so the people who would have sent a gift can send something here instead. When you set up your next birthday fundraiser, we would be honored if you named Emberlight.

Others begin as something else and become this. A screening of The Last Ecstatic Days followed by conversation. A supper where the talk turns honest about death and dying. An evening of checking in on one another. Any of these can hold a quiet invitation at its center, a basket by the door or a link shared afterward, so that a night of real presence also becomes a gift to this work.

If you would like to host a gathering of your own, we would love to help you plan it. Reach out to us at giving@emberlightway.org or by phone at 828-329-0823.
