About the Event
The IANDS Asheville Group Support Meeting offers a gentle space to share, listen, and reflect on experiences related to near-death, grief, and spiritual emergence. Together we explore consciousness, life, and death with curiosity and respect, embracing the unknown without needing to resolve it. This is the heart of how we practice loving presence at Emberlight: deep listening, compassion, and bearing witness to one another.
The Asheville IANDS (International Association for Near-Death Studies) Group Support is for those who have had a Near-Death Experience (NDE) or a Spiritually Transformative Experience (STE), those walking alongside someone who has, and those simply drawn to learn more about the transpersonal, mystical dimensions of human experience. We gather in a sharing and reflection circle, where every story is met with care and no one is asked to explain or defend what they carry.
Whether you have had an experience yourself, are supporting someone who has, or are simply drawn to these questions, you are welcome here. Please register so we can prepare the circle with care.
Your host: This circle is held by Greg Lathrop, a member of Emberlight's Elder Council. At age fifteen, Greg lived through what he believed to be the moment of his own death, a transpersonal, mystical state that transformed his understanding of consciousness and shaped the path of his life and work. Across more than forty years of nursing, including hospice and integrative healing, he learned to meet people at life's thresholds with presence rather than fear. He is recognized as a Medicine Elder in the Way of traditional healing, carrying teachings received over thirteen years alongside his teacher Will Rockingbear. Greg brings deep listening and lived understanding to this gathering.
We will meet in the Light House on Emberlight's campus in Swannanoa.
Please email Greg at greg@emberlightway.org with any questions. You can also visit the International Association for Near Death Studies for more information and resources.
